Do you allow factory visits?Generally, we do not allow factory visits as we have over 300 clients, and having too many visitors can disrupt our production schedule. However, we are working on developing a public factory concept in the future.

Can I get help during product creation?Absolutely! You’ll have access to product expertise through the Chat feature in the OS. Just a heads-up—we’re here to support you, but we don’t offer design services. You bring the ideas, and we’ll help bring them to life.

What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?Our MOQ is 50 units per style, but may vary based on fabric type, product and construction complexity.

When does the lead time for sample and production start?Once the invoice is paid, we’ll prepare your files for production and send them for your approval. Production will start after your confirmation. Note that there’s a 1-2 week "production planning" period to secure trims and fabrics. If any delays occur, we’ll inform you promptly with an updated delivery date via the OS chat.

What materials do you work with?We work with mono-fiber materials—this means each fabric is made from a single type of fiber, rather than a blend. For example, we use fabrics that are either 100% cotton or 100% polyester. Using mono-fiber materials makes recycling easier and improves circularity, since it's simpler to process and repurpose fabrics made from just one type of fiber.

What are the timelines for sampling and production?Timeline for sampling is 5-7 weeks and production another 5-7 weeks.

What do I need to get started?To kick things off, you’ll need Adobe Illustrator, your final design files, measurements, and price targets. From there, LabwearOS guides you through building your tech pack, developing your first prototype, and managing production—with hands-on support every step of the way. How much does a sample cost?Price for sampling is €200–€400 on average. Price varies by complexity and development behind the piece.

With how much time should I plan my collection/garment drop?Successfully producing a garment requires careful planning. We recommend that you plan 6 months ahead of their product drop. While we strive to streamline the production process, some steps simply cannot be rushed.

Do I need a tech pack to get started?Yes, a detailed tech pack in AI format is essential. It outlines all the necessary information for your garment, ensuring we bring your vision to life exactly as you imagined. if you do not have a tech pack you can download our mock ups and templates through the OS and fill this

Why is my garment delayed?Portugal has several peak-season, when loads of brands produce at the same time. This may create longer waiting lists than normal. Most affected by this is the print house and dye house. The lead time might increase by a few days in such instances.

Do I need to pay invoices right away?You have 10 days to complete payment after it’s issued.

Do you offer 3D samples?Yes, you can request a digital sample. Price is 50€ and you’ll receive within 7 days via the platform. A minor adjustment is included in the 50€. Check our services page.

Can I use my own fabric or trims?Yes, this is called CM (Cut & Make) production. You can ship your labels, trims, fabric to our Portugal facilities and we’ll take care of the rest.

What is the difference between the initial and final invoice?The initial invoice includes the estimated shipping costs, pricing, and quantity of pieces ordered. Once the bulk order has shipped, you’ll receive a final invoice and a credit note (to be signed) detailing the actual shipping costs, the final quantity of garments that passed quality control, and any additional charges incurred during the process. The final invoice may result in a refund or require an additional payment from your side, and payment of the final invoice is required.

How can I size-grade my garments? Can you support me with it?Our expert team can take care of size grading for you. But if you prefer to do it yourself, you can scale your design to other sizes (like from M to S or L) using our pre-engineered fit measurement charts as a guide—just mirror the measurements to adjust accordingly.

Can I just order a fit sample?Yes, a fit sample is also possible. If you want to see how our pre engineered fit, feel free to buy it on Labwear Blanks, no need to sample it.

Do you offer production updates?Our OS includes live tracking, email notification and chat updates from your manager. So you will always be up to date regarding the status of your garment.

Is there a discount for higher quantities?Yes—larger orders get better pricing. The more units you order, the lower the cost per piece. Price breaks typically occur at quantities of 100, 300, 500, and 1000 units.

What is a strike-off?A strike off is small fabric piece where we faster and efficiently test your customisation design for you to confirm color and design accuracy before full production.

Do I need to pay in bulk when ordering samples?Bulk and sampling invoices are separate. Bulk order is paid after the sample is approved and converted to bulk.

What’s the process after I submit a project?We review your files, send a quote, and upon approval and payment, production begins.

Are factories closed during summer?Yes, Factories close the last two weeks of August and the first of September. Therefore, we recommend planning ahead and according to this calendar.

Do I need a VAT number to order?It is not a required field. If you have one, VAT only applies if you're an individual in the EU.

Can you send the invoice and ship my garments to different countries?Unfortunately not. Billing and shipping details must be within the same country.

Do you do bulk or group orders?Yes! Through the OS platform you’ll be able to create a full collection and submit all at once so quote and invoice is grouped as well as production is initiated all at once.

How do I convert my sample into bulk?As soon as your garment is delivered and revised. Go to the overview tab and on the right top corner you’ll find the convert to bulk button. There you have the option to move as sampled or edit your tech pack to adjust the features you desire to adjust. Then update the bulk quantities and billing and shipping details and press submit.

Can I skip a sample and go straight to bulk?Yes, if your project is straightforward and you're confident in your design, we recommend either skipping the physical sample altogether or starting with a 3D sample—then going straight to bulk production.

Is the sample cost deducted from bulk?If the total cost of your samples is less than 2% of your bulk order, the sample price will be deducted from the final bulk order amount.

Are factories closed for Christmas break?Factories normally close from the 23rd of December until the 2nd of January.

Can I send references or my own samples?Yes—references help. You can also upload existing patterns to Labwear OS or ship to us a reference piece for us to replicate. After the invoice is paid we’ll inform the address to proceed with shipping.

Are my designs protected?Yes, your designs are fully protected and will never be reused.

Why should I outline fonts?Outlining your fonts ensures that we don’t miss any custom fonts you've used.

What if I don’t have .ai?We accept .pdf and .eps with vectorized logos, outlined text, and embedded images.

Can you vectorise logos?Yes, for an additional fee—just ask your project manager and they’ll support you.

Can I make changes after submitting my design?Yes, changes can be made until the quote is accepted. Once the invoice is issued, no further changes are allowed.

Can I customise my packaging?We offer 100% recycled polybags that include washing instructions, the garment size, and information about where it was produced (Portugal). However, we do not offer the option for fully customised packaging.

Do you offer dropshipping?We do not offer dropshipping.

How are products packaged?We use 100% recycled polybags, and each garment is ironed and neatly folded. A size sticker is also added to the bottom right corner.

What level of quality control do you have?We implement a 3-stage QC process: pre-production approval, in-line checks, final inspection.

What if there’s a mistake with my order?Email info@labwearstudios.com within 7 days of receiving it, and send us clear photos outlining the mistakes. We will then open a case and proceed with our internal protocols.

When I order 50 pcs, do I receive that exact quantity?Since each garment is made to order and tailored specifically for you, we conduct a thorough quality check on every piece before packing and shipping. Occasionally, there may be slight variations in the number of garments that pass this check, resulting in a delivery of a few more or a few fewer items. For orders of 50 pieces, a delivery difference of up to 10% is generally accepted. For orders over 100 pieces, the accepted delivery difference is 5%.

Is there any tolerance in measurement I should consider when receiving my order?When creating a garment, we always advise our clients to plan for a 2cm tolerance in the measurements of the final piece, as slight variations can occur during production.

what is the difference between organic cotton and 100% cotton? Price difference?Organic fabric is produced without the use of pesticides. The price difference is also due to limited stock, as the harvest yield is smaller compared to conventional cotton. Both qualities are good, so the selection is more regarding your brand strategy.

Can I customise my carelabel?Yes you can, just send us your design. Not that for legal reasons, the country of manufacturing must always be listed on the carelabel.

Do you custom zipper pullers?Since custom metal trims have a minimum order quantity of 3,000, they must be sourced directly by you and shipped to us.

Does garment dye affect print?Yes, it can limit the areas where you can print on the garment. Keep in mind that when garment dyeing, printing will always be done after the garment is assembled and dyed in the desired color.

Can I ship my own labels?Yes, after invoice payment we’ll share the shipping address. Please always share instructions on how to assemble so we produce it as you envision it.

What are the size limitations for prints and embroideries, and is all-over printing possible?Size limitations depend on the customization technique: embroidery allows up to 57x35 cm, screen printing up to 50x38 cm, and DTG printing up to 40x40 cm. All-over printing is also possible with DTG, but it requires a minimum order of 100 pieces.

Can fleece interiors be printed?It is possible but not recommendable inside structure absorbs the ink differently and is in contact with skin/other garments.

How do I add custom effects like distressing or sun fade?You can add distressing and sun fade effects by marking them on your mockup or selecting it on the LabwearOS while designing. Providing reference images to indicate the desired intensity is very helpful.

Who owns the designs?You own 100% of your custom designs. Labwear Studios retains the right to reference anonymized versions for our portfolio.

What payment methods do you accept?For bulk and sample orders, you must proceed with a bank transfer. Subscribing goes through stripe and you can pay via credit card.
